Describe the relationship between the title and the theme.
The relationship between the title "The Possibility of Evil", and "Self Centered" is that being self centered could make you become a bad guy. For example, in the story, Strangeworth was over proud of herself because of her family history, and this made her think that the town belongs to her and it is her job to keep the town peaceful.

How does the main conflict help to illustrate the theme?
The main conflict helped illustrate the theme of "self centered" because if Strangeworth was not self centered, she would not have sent all those evil mails, trying to help people but end up harming them.

How does the climax help to illustrate the theme?
The climax of her secret getting exposed helped illustrate the theme of "self centered" because Strangeworth would not have known that she has done wrong with her letters without getting one back, and getting her secret exposed.

Give examples of each of the following literary terms in the story (use quotes):

Simile: Old Lady Stangeworth's getting deaf, like a falling leaf.

Metaphor: From halfway down the block Miss Strangeworth could catch the heavy scent of roses, and she moved more quickly

Personification: Instead she went into the light, lovely sitting room, which still glowed from the hands of her mother, and her grandmother, who had covered the chairs with bright chintz and hung the curtains.

Symbol: The roses represented the good she had left.

Foreshadowing (give both elements):
When the Harris boy found the letter and delivered it, we would think that Tom Crane would know that Strangeworth was the one that sent him the evil letter because the Harris boy and Linda saw her drop it.

Irony:
The irony in this story is that Strangeworth thinks that she is helping people by sending them mail but she is the one causing all the problems.

Imagery: Miss strangeworth stopped at her own front gate, as she always did, and looked with deep pelasure at her house, with the red and pink and white roses massed along the narrow lawn, and the rambler going up along the porch
